Fridays with Frank

We are learning about strobe lighting with Frank Franca (right) - a master of studio lighting.

This is a parabolic light, also known as a large silver umbrella. The curve of the umbrella creates a goregous soft,

wrap-around light that is difficult, if not impossible, to reproduce with a smaller umbrella.

Best used in conjunction with a fill light or two. Employed by fashion photographers.

 Due to its size and potential to become airborne, it is suited for indoor use.
