Experimentation
I am overwhelmed by the number of digital images in the world. As Douglas Huebler said, “The world is full of objects; I don’t wish to add any more.” Using tape, acetate, and gel transfers, my experimental photography deconstructs and reconstructs found and family photos and slides. I don’t work exclusively in this medium, but it’s one of the processes I return to. I use forgotten images of weddings, birthdays, and milestones and transfer them onto glass, packing tape, and aluminium cans. What once functioned as a record of an event becomes its own document.
