Laundry day

My five-storey apartment has two washer-dryers in the basement. Just two.

 The windowless room is accessible by elevator. No stairs.

If there is a power outage or an earthquake or some unforseen disaster the only way out (or in) is by a small,

creaky elevator built when Harry S. Truman was president.

Sooooo, I use a laundry mat just up the street ...
