Protests

December 05, 2014

Share

They are everywhere.

They come out at night and shut down busy streets.

Protestors demonstrating against a decision to not lay charges against a white NYC police officer (Daniel Panteleo) whose choke-

hold allegedly killed a black man (Eric Garner) who was bootlegging cigarettes. More specifically, Garner was selling single

cigarettes on the street.

This is the second such failure to indite a white police officer in as many weeks and it is amplifying race relations in th US.

The protests I have seen have been vocal but peaceful. The police are maintaining a visible presence.
